This feature is available in the customer area via the following menu path:
Manage your services – Domains/DNS/Redirect – Manage default parking / redirect settings
What default parking is
When registering or transferring a domain with DNS management, if:
- the domain uses GiDiNet nameservers
- the default DNS records are in place
the domain will automatically display a standard parking page with the message
“Website under construction”.
In this section you can replace that behavior with a custom configuration, applied to the entire account or to specific domain groups.
What you can configure
1) Custom parking page
You can create your own parking page by editing or replacing the default HTML code.
This allows you, for example, to:
- add your logo or contact details (useful for resellers and web agencies)
- show a custom message to visitors
- publish informational or temporary content while the website is being developed
2) Default redirect
As an alternative to the HTML page, you can set a
default redirect.
In this case, all domains that:
- use GiDiNet nameservers
- keep the default DNS records
will be automatically redirected to the specified address.
This option is particularly useful to:
- redirect domains to a primary website
- send traffic to a shared landing page
- manage temporary domains or domains being migrated
Scope of application
The configuration can be:
- applied to the entire account
- specific to a domain group
In both cases, the setting will only affect domains that meet the default conditions (GiDiNet nameservers + standard DNS records).
Multiple configurations
The system allows you to create multiple default parking pages or redirects.
Warning: if more than one active configuration is present, the system will randomly choose which setting to apply at each web access to the affected domains.
Using dynamic variables
For redirects or custom HTML code, you can use the following dynamic variables:
- #hostname#: replaced with the hostname (e.g. www, forum, blog)
- #domainname#: replaced with the domain (e.g. domainname.tld)
- #fullhostname#: replaced with the full address (e.g. forum.domainname.tld)
- #path#: replaced with the requested path
- #path_with_params#: replaced with the path including any parameters
Practical example
If a visitor accesses:
http://forum.domainname.tld/path/page.php?parameter=value
the variables will be set as follows:
- #hostname# =
forum
- #domainname# =
domainname.tld
- #fullhostname# =
forum.domainname.tld
- #path# =
path/page.php
- #path_with_params# =
path/page.php?parameter=value
Restoring default settings (Nameservers and DNS)
Default parking pages or default redirects are applied only to domains that:
- use GiDiNet nameservers
- have the default DNS records
If a domain was previously modified (for example with custom DNS records or external nameservers), you can restore the standard configuration using the tools available in
Bulk Mode.
GiDiNet DNS records factory reset
This function restores the default DNS records required for proper operation of GiDiNet services (parking/redirect), applying a consistent configuration to the selected domains.
Before the operation is queued, a preview with impact analysis is shown, so you can evaluate the changes that will be applied.
This is the recommended solution when you want to return one or more domains to the standard state compatible with default parking or redirect behavior.
Bulk nameserver change with preview
This function lets you change the
nameservers of multiple domains at the same time.
The procedure includes a
summary and confirmation screen before execution, reducing the risk of mistakes due to accidental selections.
It is useful when you want to quickly switch a set of domains back to GiDiNet nameservers to re-enable the default parking or redirect behavior.
For more details on using Bulk Mode, see the
dedicated guide.
